Moving back to Raleigh before Christmas 2014. Can't wait to be back in the old North State and enjoy the seasons. R/D/CH area is such a good place to live with all the advantages of diversity of population, excellent universities providing challenging opportunities and the growing cultural life. Really looking forward to coming "home", despite the pessimisim of Thomas Wolfe. I don't expect it to be the same as in 1966 so I won't be disappointed by the changes.

I only knew Reid through the orchestra at Broughton. It was uplifting to read about his academic achievements and his lifetime of work. He obviously became a very loved and accomplished person. So many of our classmates have "made a difference" by using their time and talents. That makes me feel grateful for the great start we were privileged to enjoy at Broughton. I send my condolences to Reid's family & friends.

Billy had a special way of making YOU, the person he was with and talking to, feel happy. No matter what his situation or health was at the moment, he made others feel good about themselves. That was, in my opinion, his great gift. In addition to this sensitivity and empathy, he was intelligent and humorous. I knew him from elementary school onwards. We were lucky to have had him among us.

I met Miriam at Miss Ligion's Kindergarten when we were 5 years old. Most recently, she welcomed me back to Raleigh seven years ago when I saw her at White Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was an engaged member of that church and worked hard in leadership positions with the women's groups especially. I believe an obituary will be posted nearer to the planned service celebrating her life. She died suddenly and accidentally not from a protracted illness. She was a strong personality and will be missed by many.

Thanks to all who sent me the Birthday messages. The more years the longer the celebrations! This one lasted a full 7 days! Lots of cake and I ate it too! Trust everyone has had their vaccinations so we can get together again in the Fall.
I always enjoyed Rayetta's down to earth, solid approach to life and her sense of humor. Although many years passed between high school and my move back to Raleigh in 2014, I found her just as delightful to be with when we were mature. We often talked together at the Class of 62 Girls' Luncheons. I am sorry we willl not share more good conversations. My sympathy to her family and friends. June (Junie) Williams
